The Gestural Dance Company

Near the school, there is an active and permanent company of ballet called the “Company of Gestural Dance”, associated with FITA (Italian Federation for Amateur Theatre), which is open to all promising young people who want to try the “true” stage with the possibility of undertaking the path to professionalism.

The company of contemporary ballet, Company of Gestural Dance, founded in 2004, continues the work of the “Gestural Group” which was formed in 1986 by Marina Soligon. The Gestural Group has performed numerous choreographies over the years. It has acquired its own style, pursuing the philosophies of dance everywhere and keeping in mind that the ballet should always be within the reach of whatever audience. To this end many matinees and afternoon and evening performances have been staged and choreographed by Marina Soligon.

This has also made it possible for the new Company to live on its own merit, without having any kind of aid or subsidies. The Gestural Dance Company has two main teachers: Marina Soligon, Artistic Director, and Elena Baggio who graduated from the School of Dramatic Arts and Music Studies (DAMS) of the University of Padua, Vice President and in charge of special events.
